DESCRIPTION:Victoria’s annual concert series and chamber music festival\, Quartet Fest West\, runs from June 26-July 8 on the beautiful University of Victoria campus. QFW 2023 brings together two of Canada's most beloved string quartets\, long-time friends and colleagues\, the Lafayette and Penderecki Quartets. Also performing and giving masterclasses is UVic's alumni quartet\, Cuarteto Bellas Artes (formerly the Chroma Quartet\, Canada's first Graduate String Quartet). This will be the last year with the Lafayette String Quartet before they retire as an ensemble.\n\nViolist Yariv Aloni will join the LSQ in a concert\, and there will be a premiere of John Bolton's new film "Singing through Generations" featuring music by Nicole Mandryk and Leila Lustig.\n\nConcerts\, masterclasses and workshops will be open to the public to attend with a Festival Pass.
